Během transplantací implantátů orgánů hrozí vysoké riziko vzniku bakteriální infekce způsobené kontaminací z okolního prostředí. Bylo zjištěno, že jejich účinnost, především u stříbra, roste při vzniku komplexů nanočástic kovů s polymerními látkami jako je chitosan a kyselina hyaluronová. Inhibice replikace, strukturální změny buněčné stěny a intracelulárních a jaderných membrán, denaturace DNA a RNA jsou pozorovatelné i při působení nízkých koncentrací nanočástic stříbra. Escherichia coli O157: H7 a methicilin-rezistentní Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) i při nízkých koncentracích SPNPs.

Vážené dámy, vážení pánové,
dovoluji si Vás jako autory, kteří již dříve v podobných časopisech publikovali, informovat o novince na VUT v oblasti publikování v režimu Open Access. VUT v Brně se rozhodlo finančně podpořit publikační činnost svých autorů v režimu Open Access. Nově mohou autoři žádat o finanční příspěvek na pokrytí publikačního poplatku u časopisů z nakladatelství BioMed Central, Chemistry Central a Springer Open.

Na rok 2014 byla pro členství v BioMed Central alokována částka 4000 Euro. Přidělení dotace je podmíněno
• přijetím článku do některého z OA časopisů uvedeného alespoň v jedné z databází WOS nebo SCOPUS,
• OA časopis musí být plně otevřený ne tzv. hybridní OA časopisech (tzn. pouze některé články v časopise jsou OA)
• podpořený článek musí být uložen do repozitáře (Digitální knihovna VUT).
