Cereal germs are obtained during peeling and brushing grain before milling. It has higher content of crude protein and quite high fat contain in comparison with cereals and most others flour-milling industry by-products. It's rich in vitamins B and E. Energetic value is approximately the same as in cereals.
Cereals germs strained are small from yellowish to brownish scones (flakes) with average content of crude protein 22,5 %. During feed mixture preparing are usually used in mixtures for young, eventually poultry.
Rye screenings germs are obtained during flames screening from peeling and brushing engines. They usually have yellow or yellow-green colour and looks like small grass-seed. Rye germs have quite high crude protein content in contrast to wheat germs.
