Conference venue

Mendel University in Brno, Zemědělská 1, 613 00 Brno; the conference will take place in building “Q” (Faculty of Economy). The University is situated in the town quarter “Černá Pole”, Brno-sever (north). Transport to the University is from the central coach station “Zvonařka” and from the central railway station by tram No. 9 in the direction Lesná. After ca 15 min you get off at the tram stop “Zemědělská”. The ticket costs 22 CZK and you can buy it at the tobacconist’s (Trafika) or from the ticket issue machine; on boarding the tram you must mark the ticket.

By car

An efficient motorway network connects Brno with the rest of the Czech Republic and Europe (Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava). Mendel University is only 5 km from the main Czech motorway (the D1: Prague-Brno - Exit 201: Brno-Slatina, then direction centrum and Svitavy). No entry is allowed to the university campus; parking just outside the university or in adjacent streets. Note: you are liable to highway toll and you will have to buy the vignette at the filling station and stick it on the wind screen. The price for a 10-day vignette is 250 CZK.

By train and bus

Brno has direct train and bus connections (www.studentagency.cz) with a number of towns – Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, Prague, Berlin, Hamburg, …). Buses stop at the main coach station “Zvonařka” or opposite the Hotel Grand in the city centre (Student Agency coaches). You get off the train at the central railway station. (= hlavní nádraží).
